Overview

Individuals reentering society from incarceration and those with criminal records face many barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. Attendees of this program will learn how to prepare a client with a criminal history record seeking employment in facilities regulated by the New York Department of Health, including understanding the background check process and how to respond to pending or final employment denials.

This program is appropriate for attorneys and advocates who work with populations with criminal records, including human service programs, vocational experts, reentry programs, parole and probation offices, public benefits advocates, legal service attorneys and criminal defense attorneys.
