Policy Whiplash: Checking In With Labor Unions

Lara Skinner, Executive Director of the Climate Jobs Institute at Cornell University’s ILR School, joined Kousha Navidar of Climate One podcast to discuss the shifting political landscape and its impact on clean energy jobs and unionized labor. Skinner highlighted how proactive, worker-centered climate policy can create strong pathways for union engagement and job growth in the energy transition. Drawing from successes in New York and Illinois, Skinner explains how the Institute brings together unions and other allies to craft climate strategies that prioritize good, union jobs. She emphasizes the need to replicate these state-level wins nationally, showing how climate action, union jobs and equitable communities can go hand in hand.
