Barrington appointed to ILR outreach position

The Institute for Compensation Studies is proud to congratulate Linda Barrington on her appointment as associate dean of outreach in the ILR School. Barrington will also continue in her role as executive director of ICS.

Barrington joined ILR in 2010 to launch the Institute for Compensation Studies (ICS), founded by Kevin F. Hallock, now Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and Joseph R. Rich ’80 Professor at the ILR School.

“While my engagement in serving the ILR outreach mission will grow, ICS remains an important focus for me,” said Barrington. “The world of work is shifting rapidly and total rewards are a fundamental piece of the work equation.”

Barrington succeeds Susanne Bruyère, who has served in this role since 2005 and will be returning to full-time leadership of the Employment and Disability Institute. “Susanne has been a wonderful research collaborator, professional mentor and friend. Her achievements as Associate Dean of Outreach have expanded ILR’s impact on important global and policy workplace challenges.”

Linda’s academic credentials and practitioner experience, along with her ICS accomplishments, give her a valuable foundation for serving in this expanded capacity. “I first met Linda about eight years ago,” says Hallock. “I was immediately impressed with her exceptional ability to bridge the academic and practitioner worlds, a skill that will be vital as the leader of our outreach activities.”

Barrington will begin her term July 1, 2015.
