Barrington keynote speaker at Local 375, DC 37
At this year’s Women’s History Month program for the Women’s Organizing Committee (WOC) of Local 375, DC 37, Linda Barrington, managing director of the Institute for Compensation Studies, delivered the keynote address. The event included a first-time award ceremony recognizing women leaders from local chapters.
Barrington discussed the topic of pay equity, the gains women have made, and the gaps that still remain.
Several of the known factors contributing to pay inequality are hours worked, experience, education, industry, occupation, level in hierarchy, union status, and demographics.
