Ehrenberg honored with lifetime achievement award
Ehrenberg, who was described at the Society’s last meeting (April 2011) as "one of the great researchers from our field,” has made fundamental contributions to the study of labor markets and compensation. According to ICS Director and Chair of Cornell ILR’s Labor Economics Department Kevin Hallock: “Professor Ehrenberg is one of the founding fathers of modern Labor Economics and has contributed to many areas in the field. Most recently he has emerged as a leader in the economics of higher education. I am very happy he has joined the illustrious group of previous winners of this award, including economics Nobel laureates Gary S. Becker of University of Chicago, Dale Mortenson of Northwestern University and ICS Fellow James Heckman of University of Chicago.”
