"Information Technologies and Labour Market Disruptions" was the focus of a recent Cross-Atlantic dialogue organised by the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry and DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology) in cooperation with The Conference Board and the Institute for Compensation Studies of the ILR School of Cornell University.
This by-invitation roundtable, which took place on March 20-21, 2014 in New York City, convened U.S. and European experts from academia, business, journalism, and government. The conversation was a follow-on to the Cornell University ILR School 2013 Cornell ILR Roundtable on Employment and Technology, held last year in New York City.
The format involved no formal presentations and a limited number of attendees, in order to devote as much time as possible to high-level discussion. The agenda included specific consideration of the implications of technology's rapidly advancing frontier on labor force measures and metrics and employee return to (which) skills.
