ICS Executive Director discusses the changing nature of the American workplace with CNNMoney
Linda Barrington, ICS Executive Director, points to the Affordable Care Act as an example of public policy designed to mitigate some of the negative impacts of the revolutionary change underway in the American workplace. In his story "Why we're working less than our parents did," CNNMoney reporter Steve Hargreaves lays out the dramatic shift in hours worked in the U.S., a change that is underpinned by new workplace technologies. An increased number of Americans holding part-time positions, however, means an increasing number of workers who don't have employer-provided health insurance benefits.
Drawing parallel to the industrial revolutions of the past, Barrington tells CNNMoney that more still needs to be done to make the technological revolution more beneficial to all workers.
