On Labor Day let’s honor workers by protecting their lives
"Immediately after the pandemic hit, some of us were lucky enough to be able to re-organize our lives, work from home and attend to our children’s virtual education needs. However, many workers were not so lucky; three out of four jobs in our economy cannot be done virtually.
As we celebrate Labor Day we must honor all workers’ contributions to our country by first recommitting to secure their right to join a union, but even more fundamental, their right to health and safety at work. Essential workers, in all sectors of our economy, are all at risk of getting infected with COVID-19. Thousands have gotten sick and many have died."
