Overview

A large and critically important segment of the HR population, HR business partners (HRBPs) serve on the frontlines of helping their companies navigate questions about the future of work. Yet like the proverbial “cobbler’s children,” the demands of their role make it difficult for HRBPs to focus on their own development, and they do not have access to the peer communities prominent in more specialized areas (e.g., total rewards, talent and learning).

Over the past year, Cornell's Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies (CAHRS) has worked with a group of senior HRBPs, chief HR officers, and business leaders from across its partner companies to develop the World-Class HRBP Framework. This comprehensive model, which will be explored throughout a five-part series, aims to define key elements of the role and to set a standard for what “great” looks like. CAHRS plans to use the framework as a launchpad to develop additional tools and resources to support HRBP excellence during a time of unprecedented change and disruption.

In this webcast, CAHRS Professor Chris Collins, CAHRS Executive Fellow Kevin Cox, and CAHRS Professor Brad Bell will introduce the new CAHRS World-Class HRBP Framework. They’ll provide background on the impetus for this project, discuss the process that was used to develop and validate the model, and offer an overview of the key elements of the model. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their insights and ask questions during the webcast.
