Chair Changes
We Thank our Departing Chair and Welcome our new one
CAHRS would like to thank Ashley Goldsmith, Workday Chief People Officer, for her seven years with the CAHRS Advisory Board – three of which were serving as its Chair.
During her time with the CAHRS Advisory Board, Ashley helped establish a new project aimed at the Human Resource Business Partner – an oft-overlooked but solid human resources profession. CAHRS is fortunate to have Ashley’s continued guidance as a member of the board.
In her current role at Workday, Ashley is responsible for all HR functions on behalf of 20,000 Workmates. She also sits on the boards of directors for the HR Policy Association and the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Board of Trustees for the National Academy of Human Resources Foundation (NAHR), of which she is a Fellow. Ashley completed her Bachelor of Science at Vanderbilt University, and her Masters in Human Resources Development at Georgia State University. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
Ashley is succeeded in her Advisory Board Chair position by Nickle LaMoreaux, IBM Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, where she leads IBM’s people strategy, skills, employee experience and services, and global HR team supporting more than 270,000 IBMers across 170 countries.
In Nickle’s more than 20 years at IBM, she has led HR across organizations from services to software to sales in major and emerging markets. Her responsibilities drove the company’s business growth through leadership development, talent acquisition, performance management, and skill building. Nickle is an alumna of Cornell’s Industrial Labor Relations School and holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business.
CAHRS is happy to still have Ashley on board, where her positive contributions will continue, and welcomes Nickle, who no doubt will carry through in the tradition of our great Advisory Board Chairs.
Brad Bell, William J. Conaty Professor of Strategic Human Resources and CAHRS Academic Director says “we are thrilled that Nickle has agreed to serve as Chair of the CAHRS Advisory Board. As an alumna of the ILR school and a globally recognized leader in the HR field, Nickle brings to the role a deep understanding of both CAHRS and the challenges and opportunities facing the field. In particular, her award-winning work focused on transforming HR at IBM through artificial intelligence will be instrumental as we seek to continue to support our CAHRS partners in their quest to create the HR functions of the future.”
