Policy Team wins big at USMA
Cornell Policy takes home West Point shako (again!).
Between November 18th and 19th, the Cornell Policy Debate team traveled to the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. Competing in the JV division, partners Davis Liang and Terra Li won their division – bringing a West Point shako (marching hat) back to Cornell for the second year in a row. Additionally, both partners earned speaker awards, with Davis Liang winning 1st place and Terra Li winning 5th place. Another JV partnership, comprised of Sean Marcy and Alana Trevino, boasted a 5th-place overall finish.
In the Novice league, a team comprised of Layan Faraj and Ragini Mohan, finished the tournament as octafinalists, with Layan Faraj earning the 9th place speaker award. Overall, the Cornell Policy Debate Team had major successes at the 79th West Point tournament and is heading back to Cornell to prepare for the Rochester Tournament’s competition.
