Spanish Team to Host Live Debate
To celebrate Hispanic History Month, the Cornell Spanish Team will Host a Live, Virtual Debate in Collaboration with USAID
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for an exclusive presentation of Cornell University's Debate in Spanish club!
Cornell University's Debate in Spanish club has prepared a special demo debate in Spanish for USAID and partners on the question of:
Should we prioritize vocational education over higher education? /
¿Deberíamos priorizar la educación vocacional sobre la educación superior?
Students of Cornell University and some senior members of Cornell’s Spanish Debate Team –
Matilde Cardoso ‘23, Yinkei de Maqua ‘23, Ethan Lodge ‘23 and Jacobo Carreon ‘23 –
will perform a (shortened) debate on the prioritization of vocational education over higher education.
Format: For the first 20 minutes, the Cornell students will argue both sides of the motion. The remaining time will be dedicated to reflection on the debate, judging the winning side, and Q&A on the role of debate in youth development in the LAC region and elsewhere.”
