ICS on min wage headlines; reflection on larger debate

Last month, 29 states across the U.S. raised their minimum wages. This month, Walmart and now TJMaxx are in the headlines for committing to raise the pay of their lowest-paid employees. The Gap was the first major chain to announce such an action a year ago, following President Obama’s call to raise the national minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.
