Disability Workforce Development Center
Overview
The Disability Workforce Development Center at YTIOnline provides a wide range of professional development opportunities to practitioners who support individuals with disabilities seeking competitive integrated employment.
To meet the needs of busy professionals, the center offers both live and self-paced online training, as well as in-person bootcamps. It can also create and deliver custom training through a contractual agreement with a state agency or other organization.
The training is aimed at job coaches, job developers, supported employment specialists, workforce development professionals, vocational evaluators and assessment specialists, career exploration and guidance experts, vocational rehabilitation counselors, community-based assessment professionals, employment program administrators and supervisors, and disability benefits specialists.
Why This Work Matters
The training provided by the center uses research and evidence-based practices to provide participants with timely knowledge and practical application recommendations. It helps its participants develop skills to use in their work every day.
Project activities
Primary offerings include:
- ACRE-approved Basic Level in Employment Services Certificate Training
- Live webinars and an on-demand library provide continuing education units approved by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Topics areas include, but are not limited to, job placement and supports, disability-specific information, functional limitations and reasonable accommodations, mental health, trauma-informed care, and wellness strategies.
