Disability Inclusion
There’s a new tool to assess how inclusive your workplace is of people with disabilities and it’s just a click away.
BenchmarkABILITY.org was developed by ILR’s Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability as a self-assessment tool for employers tracking progress toward implementation of policies and practices to maximize disability inclusion.
The tool includes 15-question surveys in six areas:
- recruitment and hiring
- career development and retention
- accessibility and accommodation
- compensation and benefits
- diversity and inclusion
- metrics and analytics
The tool covers 90 recommended practices, many of them drawn from Cornell research with employers, and provides downloadable reports for both private and public sector employers to assess their organization’s level of implementation.
A comparative report feature allows units in an organization to compare survey results to help ensure practices are being implemented consistently across the entire organization.
Reports include tips and resources for improvement of policies, practices, and transactional and strategic efforts to include people with disabilities in the workforce.
BenchmarkABILITY.org was funded through a grant to Cornell from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research for the Rehabilitation and Research Training Center on Employer Practices Related to Employment Outcomes Among Individuals with Disabilities.
Access to BenchmarkABILITY.org and related reports is available at no cost for a limited time.
