Dr. Ernesto Noronha and Dr. Premilla D’Cruz teach a course on Globalization, Employment and Industrial Relations in India.
Dr. Ernesto Noronha and his wife Dr. Premilla D'Cruz both Associate Professors of Organizational Behavior at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmadabad joined ILR as visiting lecturers in March- April 2010. Dr. Noronha and Dr. D’Cruz are teaching a seven week course on "Globalization, Employment and Industrial Relations in India."
Dr. Ernesto Noronha
Dr. Noronha brings with him twelve years of diverse experience in the field of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management. He has a PhD in Industrial Sociology from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in India. Dr. Noronha began his teaching career at XLRI Jamshedpur, School of Business & Human Resources. He has since taught at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, the Indian Institute of Management in Kozhikode and is currently associated with the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmadabad.
His research interests include ethnicity and diversity at work, labor relations, downsizing, organizational control, and Information & Communication Technologies and organizations. He has extensively studied the Indian ITES-BPO industry, including studies on employee work experiences and collectivization. His other research work includes labor issues in Indian ports and ethnicity in Indian organizations.
Dr.Premilla D'Cruz
Dr. Premilla D'Cruz is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. After completing her Ph.D. at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India, Dr. D’Cruz began her academic career at the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Subsequently, she joined the Organizational Behavior area at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. Currently, she is associated with the Organizational Behavior area at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. where she teaches micro OB and creativity. Dr. D’Cruz's research interests include emotions in organizations, workplace bullying, self and identity, organizational control, and ICTs and organizations. She has been involved in several studies of the Indian ITES-BPO industry including studies of employee work experiences, collectivization and workplace bullying. Dr. D’Cruz conducts training on workplace creativity, emphasizing cognitive dimensions of the process.
