Executive in Residence
Eva Sage-Gavin '80, who recently retired as executive vice president of global human resources and corporate affairs for The Gap Inc., will be ILR's first executive in residence when she begins next year.
In visits twice yearly through 2016, she will lecture in classes, mentor and advise students.
Harry Katz, the Kenneth F. Kahn Dean, said, "The students and faculty will benefit enormously from visits by Eva Sage-Gavin and this will also be a great start to what I and others hope will become expanded engagement on campus by some of our most talented alums."
In an interview two years ago, Sage-Gavin said that throughout her career at corporations including Xerox, Disney and PepsiCo, a Cornell mentor helped her go to the next level. As a result, Sage-Gavin said, "I can never give back enough."
Winner in 2012 of ILR's Groat Award for professional achievement and service to the school, Sage-Gavin said, "I owe my success to Cornell. Period."
Sage-Gavin lives in California with her husband, Dennis Gavin, and their 18-year-old daughter, Christina.
A member of Cornell Silicon Valley Advisors, she serves on a number of university and ILR boards and is a former chair and advisory board member of ILR's Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies (CAHRS).
