Groat & Alpern Celebration
More than 400 ILR alums, faculty, students and friends will gather Thursday at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan for the annual Groat & Alpern Celebration.
It begins at 6 p.m. with livestream coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Alan B. Krueger '83 will receive the school’s Groat Award and Jean A. Baderschneider Ph.D. '78 will receive ILR’s Alpern Award.

Krueger has been chairman of President Barack Obama's Council of Economic Advisers since November 2011. He is on leave from Princeton University, where he has served on the faculty since 1987.
He was chief economist of the U.S. Department of Labor from 1994 to 1995 and assistant secretary for economic policy and chief economist at the U.S. Treasury from 2009 to 2010.
Baderschneider, active in the Polaris Project and other efforts to fight human trafficking, recently retired as vice president for global procurement at ExxonMobil.
As a member of the National Advisory Council for Minority Business Enterprises, she advises the U.S. secretary of commerce and the presidential administration on policy issues affecting the minority business community.
