Arthur "Art" Leonard '74 was honored by the Cornell University Gay and Lesbian Association with its Steven Siegel ’68 Award on Saturday in New York City.
The event was held at Pera Restaurant in Manhattan.
A professor at New York Law School, Leonard edits the New York LGBT Law Association’s “Lesbian/Gay Law Notes” and is a trustee of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at City University of New York.
He is chair of the Section on Gay and Lesbian Legal Issues of the Association of American Law Schools and chair of the Sex and Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
In 1979, he co-founded the Cornell University Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association, one of the first gay and lesbian college alumni associations in the country.
Leonard recruited Steven Siegel ENG '68 as a member of the group and Siegel served as the group's leader for more than 25 years.
