Kevin Hallock, the ILR School Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and Joseph R. Rich ’80 Professor, said, Professor Litwin’s teaching advances the ILR School’s growing focus on technology and the future of work. He enables students to understand implications for workers, managers, customers, institutions and policymakers.”
“Students study technology design and how theory is applied to workplace practices in ways that affect workers of all skill levels. This course is a window into how the reconfiguration of work can serve workers, employers, organizations and society at large,” Hallock said.
The Aspen program, which made the announcement today, has been recognizing innovative professors since 1999, and this year named 20 courses that inspire and equip future leaders to tackle timely issues.
“The Ideas Worth Teaching Awards honor extraordinary teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels that is redefining excellence in business education – and ultimately in business practice,” the program said today in a statement, which said selected courses “paint a picture of what is possible in management education.”
The Ideas Worth Teaching Awards were established to celebrate curricula that bring to life the promise of meaningful work in business – showing students the “choice points” available to firms and managers in realms like sustainability or the future of work.
Award winners will be recognized at “Working Towards Shared Prosperity: An Academic-Executive Dialogue” in Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 26-27.
