Professor Salvatore Presents at International Conference
"Nick Salvatore, the Maurice and Hinda Neufeld Founders Professor in Industrial and Labor Relations, recently participated at an international conference in Turkey. Professor Salvatore was invited by the Istanbul Association of Economists to give a speech at the Istanbul International Economists Summit. The summit was focused on the Global Economic Crisis and the Future of the Turkish Economy."
The conference was held on May 21st and May 22nd in Istanbul, Turkey. Professor Salvatore gave the keynote speech at the conference entitled "The Great Depression and the Current Economic Crisis: Some Initial Thoughts." In his speech Professor Salvatore compared the recent economic crisis to the 1929 Great Depression.
This is the second such conference in which Professor Salvatore has participated with the Istanbul Association of Economists. In December of 2007 Professor Salvatore had accompanied Dean Katz to Istanbul where they both spoke at the meeting.
