Redefining Entrepreneurship

Stereotypes and biases women face will be discussed by Assistant Professor Michele Williams at Cornell’s first-ever Women Redefining Entrepreneurship and Leadership conference on Feb. 6.

Williams will also discuss work-life balance, executive presence and scaling up small businesses along with faculty from the Dyson School and School of Hotel Administration.

President Elizabeth Garrett highlighted Williams’ research regarding women and entrepreneurship at the 2015 Cornell Entrepreneurship Summit in New York City.

“In certain industrial sectors, female-owned businesses survive longer than male-owned businesses,” Garrett said. “Providing insight into how entrepreneurship and startups might be a path to income equality.”

Rev Ithaca Startup Works and Johnson’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute will host the event in Kennedy Hall on campus.
