ILR student award winners were named during the school's annual McPherson Honors and Awards Dinner earlier this month.
The celebration was initiated by Jim McPherson, an assistant dean and director of the Office of Student Services from 1983 until his death in 2002.
Students are named for the awards by ILR's Academic Standards and Scholarships Committee, comprised of faculty members.
Rachel Dorfman-Tandlich '09 and Danielle Rosenthal '09 both received Daniel Alpern Awards, given for scholarship, leadership and service to the school.
Kimberly Goldfarb '09 is the winner of the James Campbell Award, given to a senior who best represents academic excellence, personal qualities of humility and friendliness, and service to ILR.
Dmitri Koustas '09 won the Irving M. Ives Senior Award, given annually to the senior who best demonstrates the qualities of good faith, integrity, responsibility, cooperativeness and good will.
Dmitri Koustas '09 and Danielle Rosenthal '09 were both named Merrill Presidential Scholars, nominated from the top five percent of the graduating class. Merrill scholars have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership ability, community involvement and the potential for continued contributions to society.
Michael Cohen '11 received the John O'Donnell Prize in Labor Law, recognizing an undergraduate for outstanding achievement in the Labor and Employment Law class.
Lakhpreet Gill '09 won the Salvatore Family Prize in American History, recognizing a student who has written an outstanding history paper.
Elizabeth Rapoport '09 received the Edward M. Snyder Prize in Statistics. It is awarded annually by the Department of Statistics faculty to a student who is a teaching assistant and who exemplifies the academic excellence, personal qualities and achievement for which Snyder is remembered.
Candidates for graduation with honors were also recognized at the event. They included Sally Apuzzo, Rebecca Briller, Angela Chuang, Adrien Dumoulin-Smith, Christopher Duni, Lakhpreet Gill, Amy Johnson, Katherine Kim, Eli Kirschner, Dmitri Koustas, Dhruba Mukherjee, Katherine Patrick and Danielle Rosenthal.
