"Democracy and Inequality"
ILR Professor Nick Salvatore is one of five scholars on the “Democracy and Inequality” panel that is part of Cornell President Elizabeth Garrett’s inauguration Sept. 18.
Cornell faculty members will discuss how inequality interacts with natural resources, immigration, access to education and health care, job creation and economic opportunity.
Gretchen Ritter, the Harold Tanner Dean of Arts and Sciences, will introduce the panel and Garrett will moderate it.
In addition to Salvatore, an historian and the Maurice and Hinda Neufield Founders Professor in Industrial and Labor Relations, panelists are:
- Robert H. Frank, the Henrietta Johnson Louis Professor of Management and Professor of Economics
- Suzanne Mettler, the Clinton Rossiter Professor of American Institutions
- Gerald Torres, the Jane M.G. Foster Professor of Law
- Eswar Prasad, the Tolani Senior Professor of Trade Policy.
The event will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in Bailey Hall. Attendees are asked to register by Sept. 1.
