Griffith Named Senior Associate Dean
Kati Griffith, the Jean McKelvey-Alice Grant Professor of the Labor Relations, Law, & History Department, has been named ILR’s new Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Diversity, and Faculty Development.
“I am excited to be working with Kate as we seek to continue strengthening ILR’s academic programs,” said Alexander Colvin, Ph.D. '99, the Kenneth F. Kahn '69 Dean and the Martin F. Scheinman '75, 'MS '76, Professor of Conflict Resolution. “She brings to the senior associate dean role a deep commitment to providing our students with an excellent educational experience, something she has modeled herself as one of our finest teachers. She will also be a great partner in the effort to expand and diversify our faculty and to ensure that we support the development of our faculty.”
In the position, Griffith will oversee ILR’s academic programs and faculty development. She will also represent ILR at associate deans’ meetings, while co-chairing ILR’s diversity, equity and inclusion council.
A 15-year veteran of the ILR School, Griffith is also an associate member of the Cornell Law faculty. Her scholarship focuses primarily on the intersection of immigration and workplace law, as well as legal issues affecting low-wage workers.
Griffith, who succeeds Professor George Boyer in the post, began her three-year term as senior associate dean on July 1.
