Heeeun Jang

Heeun Jang joined CAROW in 2023 and is currently involved in projects examining the roles of unions in supporting direct care workers, diverse worker voice expression in hospitals, and how employment relations shape hospitals' capacity to respond to crises such as COVID-19. Her research interests focus on workplace dynamics and labor relations in healthcare, with a particular emphasis on quantitative analysis.

Before joining CAROW, she was a post-doctoral fellow at Chungbuk National University, where she studied employment arrangements in public hospitals and their effects on patient care. She has also collaborated with labor unions and policy institutes in Korea, bridging the gap between scholarly research and real-world policy issues. Heeeun earned her Ph.D. in Management from Yonsei University in South Korea, where she studied how hospitals adapt their organizational routines using large-scale health insurance data.
