Diversity Initiative Supported
Four people affiliated with ILR helped foster a $750,000 grant supporting the Ray Corollary Initiative's mission to increase diversity within the alternative dispute resolution profession.
Four people who are part of the ILR School community are part of an effort announced today that provides $750,000 to increase diversity among arbitrators, mediators and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
The JAMS Foundation and the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution Foundation funded the $750,000 to the non-profit Ray Corollary Initiative, Inc., to support its mission to increase diversity within the profession.
ILR-affiliated people who are involved with the effort are:
- ILR School MILR 1975 and Cornell Law 1974 graduate, labor arbitrator, immediate past president of the National Academy of Arbitrators and Ray Corollary Initiative board chair Professor Homer C. La Rue of the Howard University School of Law.
- Labor arbitrator and ILR postdoctoral associate Katherine Simpson, vice chair of the Ray Corollary Initiative, Inc., board.
- Labor arbitrator, president-elect of the National Academy of Arbitrators, treasurer and a member of the ILR School Scheinman Institute Board of Advisors Alan Symonette.
- ILR School 1995 graduate, labor arbitrator and ILR Outreach faculty member Sarah Espinosa, a Ray Corollary Initiative, Inc. board of directors member and former board secretary.
