MS/PhD Student, Global Labor and Work

Adolfho Romero is a Ph.D. student in Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Department of Global Labor and Work. His research employs the Power Resources Approach to examine how worker centers and community-based nonprofits—often referred to as “alt-labor” groups—build democratic capacity, leadership, and collective power among marginalized workers excluded from traditional collective bargaining frameworks. Adolfho earned his M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida, specializing in Latinx Studies, Migration, and Transnational Studies. His work is informed by years of community engagement with labor and immigrant rights organizations, bridging research and practice in the pursuit of worker justice. Learn more at Adolfhoromero.com
