Masarrat Quader

Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Global Production

Masarrat has more than 20 years’ experience driving impact through partnerships, programs and policy work across the fashion and apparel, and international development sectors.  She has for the last four years been working at H&M Group on a range of sustainability and public affairs topics, with a focus on both social and environmental topics in the supply chain and in production countries.  She was H&M’s Board Representative in the International Accord and RMG Sustainability Council.  She played a catalytic role in supporting the establishment of the Employment Injury Insurance scheme, the first step towards a comprehensive Social Protection system for workers in Bangladesh.  She drives the Public Affairs work on Circularity within the Production organization of H&M Group, supporting all the different production countries to contribute to the development of more effective recycling ecosystems, along with other stakeholders including Governments. 


 
Before joining H&M Group, Masarrat worked with DFID and IFC (private sector arm of the World Bank Group) across Asia and Africa, with a primary focus on inclusive private sector development and quality jobs for workers.  She has designed and implemented programs as well as influenced policies in partnership with leading global organizations such as ILO, IFC, WB, UN GIZ, as well as world class consultants, academics and NGOs.  Masarrat has an MBA in finance from Boston University and completed her BA Hons form the University of Toronto in Economics and Political Science.
