Jeffrey Shook

Jeffrey Shook is Professor of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests involve intersections of law, policy, and practice in the lives of children, youth, and families. Dr. Shook is currently Principal Investigator of the Pittsburgh Wage Study (www.pittsburghwagestudy.pitt.edu/), a mixed methods study of the well-being of hospital and other low wage workers in Pittsburgh. Through this project Dr. Shook and his team have engaged in numerous policy and advocacy efforts to increase wages and improve working conditions. He is also a member of the United Steelworkers and the Pitt Faculty Union Bargaining Committee.
