Harry Bronson
Harry Bronson was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2010, representing the diverse 138th district, which includes neighborhoods in Rochester and surrounding towns. As the chair of the Assembly Labor Committee, Harry is dedicated to advancing worker protections, fair wages, workplace safety, and social justice. A lifelong advocate for equality, his work is guided by the belief that all individuals, regardless of their background or identity, deserve dignity, equity, and the opportunity to succeed. Harry’s legislative accomplishments include championing Marriage Equality, the Fight for 15, child poverty reduction, mental health reform, and protecting public education.
A SUNY alumnus, Bronson earned his undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego and his law degree from the University of Buffalo. Before his political career, he was an attorney specializing in anti-discrimination, labor law, and employee benefits. Harry’s commitment to public service extends beyond his legislative work. He and his husband, John, co-owned Equal=Grounds, an inclusive coffee house in Rochester’s South Wedge for 18 years. He continues to focus on economic development, workforce training, and supporting small businesses, striving to create a system where communities and families can thrive.
