John Lepley

John has been a part of the United Steelworkers’ Department of Education and Membership Development since 2010. As a member of the bargaining unit, he has played a key role in facilitating and coordinating a diverse range of educational programs across the USW. In 2023, he was promoted to Assistant Director and subsequently became the Department Director in April, 2024. Alongside him, there are nine dedicated staff members in the department, each possessing a remarkable array of knowledge, skills, and expertise. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and their sons, August and Lincoln. He is eager to learn alongside everyone in this cohort and to apply that knowledge in strengthening working-class power and solidarity.
