Ben Harper

Research and Policy Development Associate

Harper is a Research and Policy Development Associate at the Cornell ILR Climate Jobs Institute.

His research at CJI focuses on the intersection of clean energy, labor, and environmental justice policy. He supports the development of state reports and conducts multidisciplinary research on energy, building decarbonization, and adaptation policy.

Harper received his M.A. in Climate and Society from Columbia University and B.A.s in political science and music from the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining CJI, he worked with the National Parks Service in climate adaptation and resilience planning. He also has experience conducting global climate and health research with the Earth Institute at Columbia University and in municipal climate policy with the city of Oakland, California.
