James T Carter, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the ILR School at Cornell University. He researches barriers and pathways to diversity and inclusion at both the individual and organizational level, with a particular emphasis on discrimination, social identity, social hierarchy, and inequality. He has worked previously as a Consultant with Impact Consulting, a boutique talent consulting firm offering Diversity & Inclusion, Leadership Development and Executive Coaching strategies and solutions. Prior to academia, he held various positions in education and human resource services.
