Amy A. Peterson
Amy Peterson focuses on quality jobs and energy justice as the Senior Advisor, Industry Relations, at the U.S. Department of Energy, Loan Programs Office (LPO). Most recently, Amy Peterson led the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development and the Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery Operations for the City of New York. At the Mayor’s Office, Amy Peterson negotiated Project Labor Agreements with the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York that prioritized community hiring and apprentice utilization, ensuring that residents of low-income communities in New York City have access to careers in the construction industry through the City’s capital program. From 2007 to 2014, Peterson was President of Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW), an apprenticeship readiness program in New York City which prepares, trains and places women in careers in the skilled construction, utility and maintenance trades, helping women achieve economic independence and a secure future.
