Carmen Edelweise Hughes is the Founder and CEO of Edelweise Consulting, a career coaching, talent development, and diversity consulting firm. As an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Carmen is able to connect with her clients and move them forward to success - however, they define it for themselves. As a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) expert, Carmen partners with companies of all sizes to create and implement effective DEI strategies and training sessions with measurable success.
During her 20-years at JPMorganChase, Carmen successfully navigated her career from a back-office operations role to her dream job on the trading floor in fixed income sales. As a Black senior executive woman, Carmen played an active role in helping the company strategize, design, and implement impactful diversity recruiting, retention, and employee engagement initiatives with measurable success.
In 2015, Carmen decided it was time to retire from Wall Street to follow her passion for developing talent and helping companies strategically think and implement DEI into the way they do business and their culture. With this focus and determination, she launched Edelweise Consulting.
Carmen is active in her community and serves on four Boards: Gabrielle’s Wings, Sacred Heart Greenwich, United Way of Western Connecticut, and Waterside School. Carmen received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University’s School of Business and is a Cornell University Certified Diversity Practitioner. She loves to travel with her husband and three kids, play golf, and is an avid runner - to date, she has completed two marathons and many half marathons.
